Experium was commissioned to produce a high-precision drone mapping in Tampere. The goal was to provide detailed aerial data to support 3D modeling, documentation, and future development projects.

CHALLENGE

Located at a major traffic hub in Tampere, in the middle of dense urban structures and continuous activity. The project was made more complex by surrounding tall buildings, heavy pedestrian traffic, and the proximity of the railway station and city center.

  • Operationing in controlled airspace with strict altitude limits and regulatory requirements
  • Flight route planning around high-rise buildings, pedestrian movement, and urban activity around the arena
  • Coordinating with local authorities to secure airspace clearances and establish safe flight paths without disrupting city operations

Solution

Experium carried out a survey-grade drone mapping in the center of Tampere, one of Finland’s most challenging urban mapping environments.

  • Secured airspace clearances and coordinated with local authorities to ensure compliant operations in a restricted zone
  • Planned and executed structured flight missions around the arena, using both nadir and oblique imaging to achieve full coverage of roofs and façades
  • Conducted strict quality control to deliver validated and consistent image data for 3D modeling and urban planning
